How urMate handles your information

Last updated: 20 April 2026. This page explains what information urMate collects, why we use it, and how third-party providers like Stripe and Resend help us operate the marketplace.

1. Overview

urMate collects the information needed to operate a local task marketplace, verify accounts, support secure payments, communicate about tasks, and handle moderation or dispute review. This policy applies to the urMate website, dashboard, and connected services.

2. Information we collect

We may collect your name, email address, mobile number, profile image, login details, authentication cookie session information, posted tasks, offers, chat messages, reviews, payout onboarding details, and technical information such as browser data, IP address, and device activity used to secure the platform.

3. Why we use your information

We use your information to create and secure accounts, display user profiles, operate the task marketplace, send verification and service emails, support customer service, prevent fraud, handle disputes, comply with legal obligations, and improve platform performance.

4. Payments and Stripe

urMate uses Stripe to support marketplace payments, connected accounts, identity checks, onboarding, fund collection, payout handling, and related compliance obligations. Payment card details and payout banking details are handled by Stripe, not stored by urMate in our application database. Stripe may collect and process personal information under its own privacy terms when posters pay and when taskers complete onboarding.

5. Emails and Resend

urMate uses Resend to send account and service emails such as email verification, password resets, and other important account communications. That means your email address and message delivery metadata are processed through Resend for transactional email delivery.

6. Profile photos and uploaded content

Profile images, task details, and related uploads are stored so other users can identify you, understand the task, and interact safely on the platform. We may review uploaded content to investigate abuse, platform misuse, or policy breaches.

7. Cookies and authentication

urMate uses authentication cookies to keep users signed in securely and protect access to dashboard features. These cookies help us recognise an authenticated session and restrict access to account-only areas of the platform.

8. Admin moderation and disputes

urMate may review account activity, tasks, offers, and dispute records to keep the marketplace safe. Users may be suspended, banned, verified, or placed under review when moderation or trust and safety checks are required. Admin review does not give urMate staff access to your payment card details.

9. Sharing of information

We share data only where needed to operate the service, including with Stripe for payments and identity verification, with Resend for account emails, with service providers that support hosting or infrastructure, or where disclosure is required by law, regulation, or lawful requests.

10. Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to operate urMate, meet legal and compliance obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain marketplace records. Some payment and identity-related records may be retained longer where required by law or by payment-provider obligations.

11. Your choices

You can update your profile information from your dashboard, request password resets, and delete your account subject to legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, and payment-retention obligations. Deleting an account may not remove records we must keep for compliance or platform integrity.

12. Data protection

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards to protect account data and reduce unauthorised access. No online platform can guarantee absolute security, so you should also keep your password secure and notify us if you suspect misuse.
